Description

Drawstring shoes were worn by Germanic tribes. Similar shoes were found in a moor in Germany. But the Romans and ancient Mediterranean peoples also wore similar sandals, as can be seen in the pictures. The sandals of the Roman legionaries were called Caliga shoes.
